Here you will see a list of video game projects I have worked on. Several are available to play on itch.io, although I only have descriptions of some of my earlier projects.

Cheeto Dragon

My first video game project, Cheeto Dragon was originally created on Scratch when I was seven. The game’s main feature was a green dragon who had a passion for eating Cheetos, as well as a bowl of Cheetos that he would inevitably consume. I later updated the game and released Cheeto Dragon 2.

Police Bros.

Made over the course of a weekend, I set out to recreate Super Mario Bros. to the best of my ability. With sixteen levels, music, and sound effects, this game was a major improvement upon my previous project. I’m not entirely sure why it is called “Police Bros.”, but completing this game made me confident in my coding abilities.

Weeding Simulator

Following my last project, I set out to teach myself how to write my own game engines, as opposed to using commercially available game engines like I had before. This game was built from the ground up in the Java programming language. The objective of the game is to remove weeds from the ground as fast as possible, although every weed removed causes even more weeds to grow.

Superoo

My cousin Baxter, who was six at the time, proposed his idea for a video game to me. He called it “Superoo”, the spelling of which became a common point of contention between the two of us, and this game centered on characters from the Sonic franchise trapped in a cave in search of meat and fish. Although his idea made very little sense to me, I built this game over the next five days, and sent him a finished copy. The creation of this game ultimately led to us forming a fictional game studio, named Rotor.

Snacktown Smackdown

Although this game was put on hold, I spent more time working on it than any other. A first-person shooter focusing on a conflict between snack food giants Little Debbie and Hostess Cakes, this was my first three-dimensional game. I learned many things about 3D art and animation during the development process. I spent nearly 1,000 hours working on this project over the course of 5 months and ultimately had to set it aside and resume normal activities. I intend to revisit it someday and have a complete, finished product. I wrote it in the C++ programming language.

Guinea Pig Racing

The first entry in the series of guinea pig themed games, this is, as the name implies, a racing game with guinea pigs. This particular game was made in three days during a summer program in game design at WPI. It features a guinea pig with wheels (these seem to be relatively uncommon) and three different tracks. Play the game here.

Melting Ice

This was my second project working with my cousin Baxter. The game was intended to promote a movie that he would be making, although I do not know if that ever came to fruition. Melting Ice was quite a challenge to make, mostly because of the time constraints and Baxter’s elaborate, ever-changing ideas. The game had to be made in just one weekend, so I worked very hard to finish it on time. Play the game here.

Super Guinea Pig World

The second guinea pig game, this one is a platformer and features a far more developed narrative. All of the characters in this game were based on toys that my cousin Robert owned, as this was a Christmas gift for him. There are three guinea pig protagonists on a quest to save their friends from a group of bouncy rubber cows. This game took a long time to make, since there are a total of 32 levels. Play the game here.

Super Guinea Pig World 2

This game was made over roughly two weeks and served as both my final project for my computer science class as well as another gift for my cousin. The third in the Guinea Pig series, this is another platformer, this time in 3D. Working in 3D created new challenges, and I had to learn how to create and manage 3D models with Blender. Unfortunately, development of the game was halted because of my summer job. I hope to return to this game someday, and I have a lot of ideas for where it could be going.

Guess that Cat!

I wrote this game in an afternoon for my cousin Zolie, who was seven at the time. After playing a card game she invented in which you match a picture of a cat with the name that best suits it, I set out to create a video game version for her. The game is quite comical (or frustrating) because, much like the original card game, it is nearly impossible to guess correctly. This was written in C#, and was my first project utilizing the Unity game engine. Play the game here.

Guinea Pigs in Space

This game was built from the ground up with a custom engine. This posed many unique challenges, since I had to ensure the game worked on both Linux and Windows machines. I am considering creating a 3D version of Guinea Pigs in Space with improved graphics.

Dirt in Your Eye

I challenged a friend to a game jam this past October. We had three weeks to create a horror game involving Spiderman and another friend would pick the winner on Halloween. This features the dancing Tobey Maguire Spiderman chasing you through a spooky store. Your only hope is to run faster than Spidey through the maze-like store and get to the bag of Uncle Ben’s rice that will save you.
